Hoe verleng je de gameplay voor een shooter? Door bijvoorbeeld nieuwe maps aan te bieden aan de gamers die het spel vol liefde spelen. Speciaal voor deze (en stiekem ook de andere) gamers zijn er twee nieuwe maps.
Het woord 'nieuw' past eigenlijk niet helemaal bij deze twee maps. De expansion Resurrection of Evil is een standalone welke de maps ook al heeft, maar deze zijn weer niet te spelen als je enkel Doom 3 bezit. De maps zijn nu via Xbox Live echter ook voor Doom 3 te verkrijgen.
