Momenteel ontwikkelt Polyphony Digital een PlayStation 3-opvolger voor Gran Turismo 5 in de vorm van Gran Turismo 6 dat op 6 december wereldwijd in de winkels ligt. De game brengt onder andere een vernieuwde engine met zich mee die de 1200 wagens en honderd tracks nog beter in beeld moet brengen.
