Starcraft: Ghost werd al enorm gehyped voordat er veel over de game bekend werd. Toen het spel uiteindelijk werd geannuleerd zorgde dat dan ook voor grote teleurstelling. Maar er is weer een klein sprankje hoop.
Onlangs had ontwikkelaar Blizzard een lijst van games die door hen zijn geannuleerd. Vreemd genoeg stond daar StarCraft: Ghost niet tussen. MTV Games vroeg hier naar bij mede-Blizzard oprichter Frank Pearce. Deze laat weten dat er gewoon andere projecten waren die voorrang kregen, maar dat hij niet uitsluit dat de game ooit nog het licht zal zien.

Pearce: It never was technically canceled. It’s just a focus thing for us right now. We’ve got a finite amount of development resources and a lot of different things that we want to focus on so there’s always the possibility, but right now we’re spending our time on “World of Warcraft” and our expansion “Wrath of the Lich King” and “StarCraft II.”
MTV: Does Swingin’ Ape [the studio Blizzard bought to develop “Ghost”] still exist?
Pearce: Not right now. We just moved to a new campus in the beginning of December in Irvine. All of our development is in Irvine and we had people in three or four different buildings throughout the Irvine area… so we just consolidated everything into one Irvine campus.
