Atari heeft vandaag aangekondigd dat ze The Matrix: Path of Neo gaan ontwikkelen en uitgeven. The Matrix: Path of Neo zal een interactieve console en PC game worden gebasseerd op The Matrix Trilogie.
The Matrix: Path of Neo is de tweede samenwerking tussen Atari, Shiny Entertainment Studio, de Wachowski Brothers en Joel Silver, de producer van de trilogie. In mei 2003 heeft Atari 'Enter The Matrix' uitgebracht. De game kreeg veel kritiek uit de pers over zich heen, maar ging desondanks 6 miljoen keer over de toonbank.
In de game zal de speler in staat zijn om in de huid van 'Neo' te kruipen. Om zo zijn meest belangrijke en memorabele scenario's te herleven. Het pad dat de speler in de game kiest, en de gevolgen hiervan zullen geschreven worden door de Wachowski broers. De game zal de stemmen en de gelijkenissen van de belangrijkste acteurs bevatten. Inclusief Keanu Reeves (Neo), Laurence Fishburne (Morpheus), Carrie-Ann Moss (Trinity) en Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith) . In The Matrix: Path of Neo zal ook footage uit de drie films en The AniMatrix gebruikt worden.

De game moet in het vierde kwartaal van 2005 wereldwijd in de winkels liggen. The Matrix: Path of Neo verschijnt voor de Xbox, de PlayStation 2 en de PC.
