Met Bioshock 2: Sinclair Solutions Test Pack ontwikkelde Digital Extremes een eerste downloadbare uitbreiding voor Bioshock 2, maar echt veel werk was er niet meer aan.
Vandaag blijkt namelijk dat de DLC niet meer dan een unlock-key is en dat de DLC al lang op de disk staat. Volgens community manager 2K Elizabeth moest de DLC op de disk staan, anders zou de userbase in twee verdeeld worden. Daarom koop jij eigenlijk alleen een unlock-key in plaats van echt nieuwe content.
The way our engine and game structure works is that people need to have the exact same content for people to play together. One of the challenges with post launch content for MP is that it can split the player base, and we want to avoid that whenever possible. For this content, creating the DLC package the way we did allowed for us to not split the player base - so whether you purchase the new content or not, you can still play with your friends.
Dat zorgt echter voor een nieuwe vraag: staat er nog meer multiplayer-DLC gelockt op de disk of is Sinclair Solutions Test Pack meteen de laatste multiplayer DLC? Alleen Take Two kent momenteel het antwoord.
