Pokémon Colosseum legt Nintendo geen windeieren. De game, die nou niet bepaald de hemel in werd geprezen door de pers, doet de verkopen van de Gamecube flink stijgen.
Pokémon Colosseum doet het goed. De game doet het zelfs zo goed dat de verkopen van de Gamecube in Groot Brittannie met 80 % zijn gestegen. Dit is natuurlijk hardstikke goed nieuws voor Nintendo. Helaas zeggen ze er niet bij hoeveel Gamecubes er nou werkelijk over de toonbank zijn gegaan. Nintendo's marktaandeel is door dit grote succes bijna verdubbeld. Nintendo bezit 25% marktaandeel in Groot-Brittannie. Waarschijnlijk doet de Gamecube met Pokémon Colosseum het in de rest van Europa net zo goed. Hieronder volgt het persbericht van Nintendo zelf:

Pokémon Colosseum launched to rave reviews in the UK on 14th May 2004 and marked the biggest launch for a Nintendo GameCube title this year. In addition to the game, which included a free Memory Card 59, the incredible Pokémon Colosseum Mega Pak also launched on the same day. The Mega Pak contains a copy of Pokémon Colosseum plus a Nintendo GameCube, a Memory Card 251, a Nintendo GameCube Game Boy Advance Cable and the Pokédex Organiser, Pokémon Box and is available for around 159 Euros.
