Je zou bijna vergeten dat er tijdens The Game Awards ook Awards werden uitgereikt in uiteenlopende categorieën. De belangrijkste is natuurlijk die van Game of the Year en deze eer viel ten deel aan Baldur's Gate III, die Alan Wake II, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Resident Evil 4 Remake, Super Mario Bros. Wonder en The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom achter zich liet.
Hoewel je als genomineerde misschien niet mag spreken over verliezen is dit eigenlijk toch het geval voor Marvel's Spider-Man 2. De game werd zeven keer genomineerd in uiteenlopende categorieën, maar wist uiteindelijk geen enkele prijs binnen te slepen. Wel was dit het geval voor de volgende games:
